If you look at the history of social issues in the United States, you see that society is always shedding outdated taboos, standards, and so on. Things keep getting better, fairer, saner… you get the picture. Bigots always look to the past for the good old days. Remember when gays weren’t so visible? Remember when blacks and whites were segregated? Remember when a woman knew her place? Well, there’s a secession movement in Texas, with people who don’t like the way the country keeps heading. Chuck Norris actually said he might consider running for president of Texas if it were its own nation. I think it’s a terrific idea for all of these ignorant backwards people to leave and have their own little shithead paradise.
