There are some situations in life where you always expect to hear supportive comments from people, even if it’s fake and just to be polite. This is a song about the significance of a person NOT pretending to show support. They’re not necessarily adversarial, but they leave their thoughts open to speculation. I really think this song sounds like a combination of The Littlest Man Band and Cake, and I will accept no other comparisons. If you’ve listened to enough of my music, you’ll notice that guitar solos are incredibly rare. This song has that special treat for you. Maybe you’ll understand why I don’t do many guitar solos, although I think this one is passable, considering the context.
